Arrow Episode 510 Who Are You? – Review
By Ricardo ‘Rease’ Butler
I’m not going to lie to you guys AND I am going to say sorry in advance to all the Green Arrow fans out there but … I am not a fan of this show at all. I mean, I actually didn’t even start watching it until they were bringing the Flash on in the third season. Basically, I only watched it because it might have added clues to the other DC CW shows, especially the Flash TV series.
I think there are four reasons why I don’t like this show I will give before my review.
- The fight choreography are just horrible! It’s more dance rehearsed then natural. They should have taken some clues from Agents of SHIELD. At least their fight scenes look natural.
- They made Green Arrow into Batman. I mean think about it. Almost half of Green Arrow’s villains are from Batman. Even in this episode they bring on Talia al Ghul; Batman’s baby momma!
- This one is a bit more petty, but whatever. They killed of Dinah Laurel Lance. I mean really! REALLY!
- I’m just not a Green Arrow fan. So this is probably a very unfair review for this reason above all.
I mean there are some good things about the show; the first being just seeing new DC characters revealed it always a plus. That’s about the best thing for me personally.
Anyway, in this episode Laurel Lance is back, but it just so happens to be Laurel Lance from Earth Two aka Black Siren. She is working with this Prometheus character who we haven’t truly figured out his secret identity.
She meets Oliver and Felicity in their base and they decide to throw a party, which is really not a party. Felicity is not convinced, so she wants to get DNA samples from Laurel’s glass. It turns out to be a match to Earth One Laurel until Rory Regan aka Ragman suggests or jokes that she could be an evil twin. This triggers Felicity to figure out that she is Earth Two Laurel. At that time Black Siren attacks them with her siren scream.
Oliver is trying to redeem himself from the death of Earth One Laurel by trying to appeal to Earth Two Laurel’s better side. Earth Two Laurel just plays the role that she is being used or forces to work for Prometheus but of course Felicity does not trust her. The power goes off while the two girls talk and Black Siren screams once again and gets away.
Oliver and his team: Felicity, Wild Dog, Mr. Terrific, and Ragman figure out that Prometheus has broken Black Siren out of S.T.A.R. Labs metahuman prison Curtis Holt aka Mr. Terrific creates a device that is like the tech S.T.A.R. Labs uses to imprison metahumans to cut off temporarily Black Sirens scream.
They catch her and decide to keep her in Starling City and later Oliver and Felicity feel they need to find another way to honor Black Canary’s legacy by finding another woman who fill her shoes. Later they show some unidentified woman in a bar fighting guys who also can do the canary cry. So it looks like we will have another Black Canary after all.
My Thoughts on this Story
Another good thing about this show is that their story does keep you on the edge of your seat to finding out what’s next. You never know who becomes bad or who becomes a good guy or who betrays who or what someone is hiding that can change the dynamic of the show. That’s what this episode does. Just when you think A is going to happen, then B happens. So that’s what keeps me watching this show also, because I love a mystery!
